Superheater

Oktober 7, 2008

Superheaters are heat exchangers placed in the path of hot gases. They are generally located in any suitable free space in the neighborhood of the boiler tubes. They receive the saturated or slightly wet steam coming from the boiler drum and deliver it in a superheated state the general steam main of the factory. They are generally formed of tubes of small diameter, all of the same shape with several bends, interposed between two. The transfer of heat from the gases to the steam is predominantly by convection; thus this section of the superheater usually is referred to as a convection superheater.
